What is CineVault?
CineVault is a private, invitation-only archive and screening platform for independent filmmakers, documentarians, and film students to store, share, and screen their own original works with a trusted audience. It is not a general media tracker.
How do I get access?
CineVault is invite-only. If you know an existing member in good standing, ask them to send you an invitation from their account. We do not accept open registrations or unsolicited requests.
What content is allowed?
Only original works created or co-created by a CineVault member. This includes short films, features, documentaries, experimental video, animation, and student projects. Commercial releases, copyrighted works, and content you did not produce are strictly prohibited.
Who can see my uploads?
All approved uploads are visible to the full member community. There is no per-upload privacy setting — if you upload something, all members can download it. Do not upload anything you are not comfortable sharing with the community.
What formats and codecs are accepted?
Any standard video container is accepted — MKV, MP4, MOV. There are no enforced encoding requirements, though well-compressed encodes with good seeding benefit everyone. Lossless or near-lossless sources are welcome for archival purposes.
What is a passkey and why shouldn't I share it?
Your passkey is a unique token embedded in your personal .torrent files that ties all tracker activity to your account. Sharing it allows others to use your account on the tracker, which may result in ratio irregularities and account suspension. Treat it like a password.
What happens if I stop seeding?
We encourage members to maintain a healthy upload/download ratio. Torrents with no seeders become inaccessible to the rest of the community. Long-term preservation is central to what CineVault is about — please seed as long as you reasonably can.
How do I report a problem with a torrent or a member?
Use the Report button on any torrent's information panel. Describe the issue clearly — the more detail you provide, the faster staff can act. For member conduct issues, contact a staff member directly via the site messaging system.
